Deshalb erleiden auch gesilberte Papiere, welche an sehr trockener Luft oder im Exsiccator aus getrocknet sind, eine geringere, weniger durchgreifende Zersetzung im Lichte und liefern kraftlose Copien; es genügt meistens, wenn das Papier aus der atmosphärischen Luft Feuchtigkeit aufzunehmen in der Lage ist.
